As humans have advanced, we’ve become a rather lazy species. Sitting down has become the main activity that most of us do everyday, but we don’t realize that we could be jeopardizing our health by doing so.
The infographic below, orginally found on Brainz.org, shows us how dangerous an excessive amount of sitting down can be to our health. Before you say it, yes, I know correlation does not always imply causation but the statistics below are interesting nonetheless and I think we can all agree that a little more exercise and a little less time sitting on our butts would be good for everyone!

Having been raised on a dairy farm I have a good feel for how active our ancestors were in what was largely an agrarian society. I feel people have not made adjustments with their diets. We all like the large portions restaurants put in front of us, but actually we are probably digging premature graves for ourselves with those forks. Thanks for the wake up call, I think it's time for a long walk.
It doesn't make much sense that we are less active yet consume more. It seems that society has started to realize this in the last 5-10 years so hopefully the trend will continue. Its all about educating the populous about the dangers of over-consumption.
Thanks for the comment! Keep walking!
This infographic scared me enough to consider changing careers, I got to get out of this cube!!
