What is Entrepreneurship?

Entrepreneurship involves innovation and business acumen to convert ideas into products or services to be sold. There are certain attributes that an entrepreneur has. If you talk to any successful business owner about their success, you will realize that they all have certain principles of success that hold true. It is not merely about positive thinking and big dreams, there is a lot of hard work involved as well as attitude training and skill building.

Gone are the days when it was assumed that some people are born with the entrepreneur mindset and only they can make a huge success. Many people have broken the myth by coming from very different backgrounds and still making it big.

There are some big organizations that help you build the skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur and successful in life overall. Let's take a glimpse at the essential attributes of a successful entrepreneur.

The Power of a Dream

Every big dream can only turn into reality with confidence. Ask any successful person and he or she will tell you that it starts in the mind. When you can perceive it as possible in your mind, only then it manifests itself into your reality. When you begin to do something new, you will face failures and disappointments on the way. You must keep going.

It requires fire in the belly, a dream or a purpose to keep you going in those times. When the dream is big enough, facts don’t count and you will most likely be able to find your way out of any situation.

If you want to do something new, you must be creative enough to think the idea through and intelligent enough to take the risk. An entrepreneur has clear goals in his or her mind and the ability to write them down in detail on paper. He or she has the vision to not only see what is present in reality today, but what can be the reality of tomorrow.

A good entrepreneur will have the right balance of head and heart and use his or her emotions, gut feeling and intelligence equally to arrive at conclusions.

Strong Work Ethics

Many people are of the opinion that there is no place for values in business. This is not true. One may get rich using dirty tactics and tricks, but when you talk to big entrepreneurs, they have all built it with solid work ethics in place. A person who is not committed to his or her dream, who does not keep his or her word and tries to fool other people, can never go too far in life. The more value you add, the more profit you make.

Other than this, there is no substitute for hard work. Hard work done at the right place, with the right values will always lead to success. Today, because of technological advancements, the market is open wider than ever before. Anyone with an idea to add value to the world has an equal opportunity to become an entrepreneur.

Totally true. Its easy to start any new idea or project but 10 times harder to go through with it and actually make a difference and add value. Its easy to lose motivation if you dont have goals in place and have something to aim for everyday. Set easy attainable goals and have a larger long term goal set. Yes "The more value you add, the more profit you make"…. agreed here your products/business must add value to the world or long term it simply wont work no matter how much hard work you put in.
