Facebook Timeline for Pages Released

Facebook officially released Facebook Timeline for business pages today at the 2012 Facebook Marketing Conference in NYC.

The Timeline for pages announcement was expected as Facebook has been rolling out Timeline for personal users for the past couple months.

The transition to Timeline will definitely require Facebook marketers to rethink some of their social media marketing strategies.

The release is also controversial as many users have expressed their discontent over some of the privacy features of Facebook Timeline.

Businesses currently have the option of whether or not they would like to enable Facebook Timeline for pages right now or wait until March, 30 – when the update will be rolled out to all Facebook pages.

Page owners have the option of whether or not they would like to preview their page in Timeline before publishing it to the public.

Overall, Timeline for Facebook pages is almost exactly the same as Timeline for normal users. For information on how to setup Timeline for you business page, you can take a look at my article on preparing your profile for Facebook Timeline.
