Google Analytics Real-Time Beta Not Working

google analytics real time beta not working

At about 5:30pm EST yesterday (December 15, 2011), the Google Analytics Real-Time Beta for this site stopped working. I had my best day in 6 months in relation to visits and since yesterday, the real-time analytics have been reporting 0 visitors.

The overall analytics are still working correctly. If I look at my overall visits for the day and then refresh the page a couple minutes later, the statistics are updated correctly.

After doing some research I found out that I am not the only person experiencing this problem. There is are two posts in the Google Analytics help forum reporting the exact same problem (post 1 & post 2).

There was also a post reporting that although the Real-Time Analytics are reporting a certain number of visitors, the number reported is not accurate according to the owner of the website.

Another one of my analytics profiles is correctly displaying real-time statistics so this bug seems to only only affect specific profiles.

I’ve really been enjoying the Google Analytics Real-Time Beta feature because it is very helpful in observing how your marketing efforts can have immediate effects on traffic, etc.

If anyone else is experiencing this problem or similar problems, please let us know in the comments below so we can try to figure out how widespread the problems are.
