iOS – iMessage Effects Not Working (Fix)

After the release of iOS 10, many iOS users have complained that the new iMessage effects are not working for them.

This is most likely due to having the “reduced motion” featured enabled on your iPhone or iOS device.

If you disable the “reduced motion” feature, iMessage effects should start working like normal.

How to disable “reduced motion” in iOS:

  1. Access your settings.
  2. Tap on the “General” section.
  3. Tap on “Accessibility”.
  4. Disable the “reduced motion” feature.

This having this feature disable does use more of your phone’s battery life – which why I usually have this feature enabled.

If you want to use iMessage effects, however, this feature must be disabled.
