just watched your tutorial and want to ask a question on sharing. Is there a way for a recipient to view the doc without downloading it, more of a link opposed to a attachment?
    Thanks

    Dusty

      Dusty,

I am assuming that you’re talking about sharing a file by adding it as an attachment. If that is your question then the answer is yes, then can view the attachment without downloading it.

If they are a Google Docs user they should have an option when they receive the email to “view” the link instead of downloading it.

If they are not a Google Docs user but the attached file is in PDF format, depending on their browser, they should be able to view it in their browser instead of just downloading. The ability to do this is built in to Google Chrome but I think you need a plugin for Internet Explorer and Mozilla FireFox.

If the document is not in PDF format, they don’t have the proper plugin or they’re not a Google Docs user they will have to download the file.

I hope this answers your question. If it doesn’t, try explaining some more of the details and I’ll do my best to give you the answer you’re looking for.
