What is the iPhone 5 Screen Made Out Of?

Ever wonder what the iPhone 5 screen / display is made out of?

If you ask Apple, they’re going to tell you it is “Retina” display. Retina however, is just a brand name for a liquid crystal display (LCD) that has an increased amount of pixels for enhanced viewing.

What Apples doesn’t mention very often however, is that there are a few other elements that make up the iPhone 5 screen that allow it to be so durable, responsive and scratch resistant.

In addition to the Retina display, the iPhone 5 screen also includes 2 primary materials:

  1. Aluminosilicate Glass
  2. Oleophobic Coating

If you’re interested in learning how these materials work together to create the amazing iPhone 5 Retina display, check out my YouTube video above!
