Mac OS X screenshot key combos (shortcuts) are a great way to capture images of exactly what you’re seeing on your computer screen.
Taking screenshots on a Mac can be useful for a number of situations and it is a feature that, once you learn, you will constantly encounter situations to make use of.

MacRumors has published a screenshot shortcut key guide that lists all of the possible shortcut key combos to take screenshots on a Mac.
It can be difficult however, to remember every single screenshot key combo so I would like to share the 3 screenshot shortcut key combos that I find most useful.

Mac Screenshot Key Combos:

Command + Shift + 3:
Takes a screenshot of your entire computer screen. -
Command + Shift + 4:
Allows you to take a screenshot of a specific portion of your screen by clicking and dragging in the desired area. -
Command + Shift + 4 and then Spacebar:
Allows you to take a screenshot of a specific window on your screen (browser window, finder window, etc.).
