LinkedIn is a social network similar to Facebook, Twitter and Google+ but specifically focused towards users’ professional lives. LinkedIn is a place to have an online resume and portfolio that can help you connect with companies and individuals in the same industry.
LinkedIn is a great place to record all of your professional achievements and milestones while networking to expand your professional opportunities.
Thousands of companies also use LinkedIn to research possible job candidates and to post job listings. User can actually apply to job right from within LinkedIn and, instead of sending over a resume, employers will use your LinkedIn profile to research your qualifications.
Just having a LinkedIn profile shows potential employers that you’re up-to-date with technology and are motivated to excel professionally.
Users add connection in LinkedIn similar to adding friends on Facebook but LinkedIn connections are generally people that you’ve actually done business with or worked with at some point in your life.
User can even write public recommendation for each other serving as references.
