The New AnsonAlex.com
As of April 4, 2017 AnsonAlex.com has been relaunched with a completely new design and layout.
The previous version of the website had been up and running since early 2011 and was in desperate need of an upgrade.
Nearly all of the content that was featured previously is back – although a few items have been removed to improve the user experience. The website currently features over 600 tutorials and articles – many of which are in video format.
The site has been streamlined for performance and usability.
Users now have the option to browse material by “topics” such as Google Drive or macOS.
Videos appear more prominently than before and include an option for users to add videos to a “watch later” list saved in the user’s browser cache. This will allow users to more easily access content that they’ve found previously.
The overall hierarchy of how content is categorized and sorted has been reworked. Most content items now only have 1 primary category and 1 primary topic (if any). This means that users should see a more diverse array of content as they browse the site than in the previous website version.
Forums have been added for users to ask and answer technology related questions. This will allow users to find answers to their questions more quickly and aid the AnsonAlex.com team in gauging which topics are highest priority for the AnsonAlex.com viewers and readers. There is also a dedicated Content Suggestions Forum where users can request that certain topics be covered.
A number of backend improvements have been implemented that will make it easier to publish new content and at a higher quality.
2017 Progress for AnsonAlex.com
Over the past 6 years, the AnsonAlex.com library of over 600 articles and tutorials has received millions of visitors. The AnsonAlex.com YouTube Channel has received over 15 millions views, now has over 68,000 subscribers and features over 300 unique videos.
The AnsonAlex.com team will continue to work hard in 2017 to maintain and improve upon those numbers. Now that the website has been updated, users can expect to see a flurry of new content.
AnsonAlex.com will continue to provide detailed video tutorials on a wide array of topics. In addition, users can expect to see more news content (related to technology), as was common during the early days of AnsonAlex.com.
There will also be increased coordination between video and print content so that users can consume content in the form that best works for them.
