I recently began using the Pro version of SEMRush for search engine marketers and I would like to share a some aspect of the tool that I find most useful.
First of all, there is a ton of information available in SEMRush and one could easily spend all day crunching numbers to learn more about their web presence.

It is also very important to remember that there is no SEO or SEM tool that has all the information you’re looking for. The best way to go about researching your domain’s web presence is to use multiple tools in combination together including, but not limited to, SEMRush, Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, Alexa and SEO Site Tools.
For my situation, the two reports that I find most useful in SEMRush are:
- Organic Keywords Report
- Backlinks Report
- Title of the article or RSS feed with the link is located.
- The URL of the page where the link is located.
- The URL of the page that the link points to.
- Anchor text of the link.
- Date the last time the backlink was seen.
Having all of this link information in one place really helps one observe what type of links they’re receiving, where they’re coming from and what anchor text is used. The anchor text field is the most important aspect in my opinion because not many other SEO backlink tools report specifically on anchor text and, as many of us know, anchor text is a very important aspect of ranking in all search engines.
Note: More detailed instructions on how to actually run these reports is available in the video tutorial at the top of this article.
As I stated earlier, there is a ton of information available for search engine marketers in SEMRush but hopefully this overview will help you get started in improving your domain’s web presence.
As always, if you have any questions, concerns or things to add, please let me know in the comments section below!
