Many Yahoo email accounts are being hacked.
It was reported by The Next Web, that a number of Yahoo accounts had been hacked due to an XSS and Javascript exploit.
According to Yahoo, the account vulnerabilities were fixed.
According to hundreds, and maybe even thousands, of Yahoo users, Yahoo accounts are still being hacked and there is no sign of it stopping.
I actually had a client’s personal Yahoo account hacked and numerous emails were sent from the client’s account containing a link for the client’s contacts to click on.
This event was virtually the exact same issue that other Yahoo account users have been reporting.

At first, I thought this must be a phishing attack and somebody must have gained access to the account as a result of the user entering his or her login credentials on a phishing site.
After reading the article on TNW, I have realized that this is not a phishing attack but, instead, a Yahoo vulnerability.
The account of my client that was hacked had been accessed from Brazil on the day of the hack but Yahoo users have reported being hacked from countries around world including, but not limited to:
- Brazil
- Ireland
- UK
- Columbia
- Romania
