Android – How to Create Multiple User Profiles

Just like on Windows and macOS, you can create and manage multiple user profiles and accounts on your Android device. These accounts can customize all of their own settings including wallpaper, system settings, apps, connected accounts, etc.

Setup multiple user profiles on Android

  1. Navigate to your device settings.
  2. Navigate to System.
  3. Navigate to Multiple users.
  4. Enable the multiple users option.

Difference between user and guest accounts

As explained in the video above, there are two options for creating accounts on Android: User and Guest.

User accounts are best for when the account will be used over a long period of time. The account can be given a unique name and can be used by a particular user (maybe a family member) or for certain situations.

Guest accounts are quicker to setup but are more temporary. If someone needs to use your phone for a small chunk of time and you want to keep your personal information private, you can quickly set them up on a guest account while they’re using your device.

Using multiple users on Android is great for sharing devices with family members and allowing each personal to have a customized experience.
