Is your iPhone 5 or iOS 6 screen flickering randomly when entering a password in the App Store?
Your not alone, I received my iPhone 5 three days ago and I’ve just experienced this issue for the first time.
A also did some research on the fuzzy iPhone 5 display and found that a lot of people are experiencing this problem. There is also a second forum that documents a lot of users with the flicking iPhone 5 / iOS 6 screens.

After reading through the users comments I’ve discovered the following:
- This is a widespread problem.
- It is mostly happening while entering a password in the App Store.
- This fuzzy screen does not occur every time
- Many iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPad users complained about the issue appearing after the iOS 6 update.
Considering the screen flickering problem is happening on old devices that have just upgraded to iOS 6 and because it is occurring in the same place for most users – entering a password in the App Store, it seems as though this is a software problem with iOS 6 that could be fixed via software update.
If this were a hardware problem, I would expect it to occur elsewhere aside from the App Store and, if that is happening on your device, I would recommending scheduling an appointment at the Apple Store.
For now, I’m going to wait and see if a software update fixes this issue. If it continues, I’ll be taking the device to the Apple store as well.
Please let me know the details of your experience related to this problem in the comments section below so we can continue to track the developments as the situation unfolds.
