A new LinkedIn iPhone app update and redesign was recently released that focuses on putting news stories and updates front and center.
In my opinion, LinkedIn has always had one of the more “slick” social media mobile apps and this update is even more of an improvement.
One aspect of the update that some users may not be too happy about is the fact that LinkedIn now plans to advertise in the update feed of iPhone users. iPad users started to see advertisements this January and now it appears that all LinkedIn users will be forced to sift through ads in the newsfeed.
LinkedIn defends their decision to fully monetize their platform by saying that it will allow them to bring more consistent and high quality updates to their users.
Android users also received the same update to the LinkedIn mobile app.
The tutorial above will walk you through all of the features of the new LinkedIn iPhone app which include:
- New beautiful and simpler design
- Now you can invite, follow, like share and comment on content right from the updates stream
- New personalized and customizable navigation for quicker access to your favorite features
- Ability to follow influencers to get access to original insights and content
