The above video tutorial shows users how to uninstall and reinstall games in Steam on both Windows OS and Mac OS X.
If you have purchased a Steam game but aren’t playing it at the moment, you can save hard drive space by uninstalling the game. Since your purchased is tracked by Steam, you can reinstall the game at no additional cost at any time.
It is important to note that, for single player games, doing this may erase your save game data if don’t backup the save file to a folder outside of the Steam folder first.

This method can also be used to troubleshoot installation issues with games. If you think there was an error with a games install through Steam, you can use this method to uninstall and reinstall the game.
Steam uninstalls and reinstalls can be done by right clicking on a game in the “Library” section of Steam, as shown in the video above.
